Florida Georgia Line Earn Single Record of the Year at the 2017 ACM Awards
Florida Georgia Line's "H.O.L.Y." has been named Single Record of the Year at the 2017 ACM Awards! The duo was performing during the 2017 ACM Party for a Cause's Bash at the Beach, a concert held at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nev., on Saturday night (April 1) when they learned the big news.
Their first single off of Dig Your Roots, Florida Georgia Line revealed a completely new aspect to their music with "H.O.L.Y." The piano-centric ballad is worlds away from the duo's earlier hits, such as "Cruise," and while Dig Your Roots still features some classic FGL party anthems, songs such as "H.O.L.Y." signal a new chapter for Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley, one that has been fully embraced by their fans. The duo sold out stages across the U.S. on their 2016 Dig Your Roots Tour and are continuing the trek in 2017 as well.
During the Bash at the Beach, Hubbard and Kelley also learned that they had won the 2017 ACM for Vocal Event of the Year. Their collaboration with Tim McGraw, "May We All," was nominated in that category.
Other nominees for Single Record of the Year at the 2017 ACM Awards included "Vice" by Miranda Lambert, "Humble and Kind" by McGraw, "Blue Ain't Your Color" by Keith Urban and "My Church" by Maren Morris.
