Shooter Jennings Is an ‘Outlaw’ Consultant

Shooter Jennings is bringing his outlaw ways to television, He'll have a hand in a TV series which can best be described as Music City meets the Mafia. The rebellious singer-songwriter will be an executive consultant and music supervisor for the Nashville-based drama 'Outlaw Country.'

The FX network, known for such edgy fare as 'Rescue Me' and 'Sons of Anarchy,' has so far only ordered a pilot episode for 'Outlaw Country,' described by Variety as "a thriller and family drama set against the backdrop of Southern organized crime."

Shooter, the son of late country icon Waylon Jennings, is engaged to actress Drea de Matteo, who's no stranger to organized crime dramas herself, having starred in (and been "whacked" on) 'The Sopranos.' The couple's daughter, Alabama Gypsy Rose, was born in Nov. 2007. Shooter latest album, 'Black Ribbons,' was released earlier this year.
