When Celine Dion needs to take a break from her show at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, her Canadian co-hort Shania Twain may be the performer to step in and headline a concert run in her stead.

The rumors of the possibility Shania would perform in Sin City began in November, and John Meglen, president of AEG (the producers of Celine's show), confirmed this week to The Las Vegas Sun newspaper that while no contracts have been signed, the "talks are ongoing."

In the meantime, Shania is busy getting ready for her new reality show, 'Why Not?,' which is set to debut May 8 on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) at 11:00 PM ET/PT, immediately following 'The Judds' finale. The series, which will move to its regular time slot (Sundays at 10:00 PM ET/PT) on May 15, will showcase the singer-songwriter in a whole new light, one her fans have not yet seen before -- the vulnerable, deeply emotional, inspiring woman, mother and newlywed who is struggling to express herself through song. With this new show, she is finding the strength to overcome those hardships and move on, as she learns about herself and to ask the questions "Why?" and "Why Not?"

Cameras follow the superstar's personal journey, which includes a visit to her childhood home in Timmins, Northern Ontario, Canada, with her sister, Carrie Ann. We'll also see footage from Shania's cross-country adventure with some of her bandmates and closest friends, which shows the star taking a leap of faith, literally, as she goes skydiving and mountain climbing. Viewers will also get an inside look at how she is coping, as she meets with vocal doctors and a grief counselor to work through the emotional connection to her vocal restrictions, as well as families who have experienced some of the same devastating events she has had in her own life. Gladys Knight, Lionel Richie and David Foster will appear during the course of the series to provide guidance and inspiration to Shania as she collects the necessary tools to reclaim her voice.

Shania is also set to hit bookstores with her autobiography, 'From This Moment On,' May 3. The book chronicles the singer's personal and professional lives beginning with her birth in Canada, to losing her parents at an early age, as well as to the superstar who's sold more than 75 million albums worldwide. The book ultimately shows how all of those events have shaped Shania into the amazing woman she is today.
