Sara Evans will be the first country artist to compete on the wildly popular reality show 'Dancing with the Stars' when the new season kicks off next month. The multi-platinum 'Coalmine' singer is pictured here on her first day of rehearsals with her partner on the show, Tony Dovolani, who danced with professional wrestler Stacey Keibler last season.

"I love to dance," Evans says. "I'm always up for a challenge, and this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."

Evans and Dovolani will compete against other pairings of professional dancers and celebrities, including talk-show host Jerry Springer, actress Vivica A. Fox and former NFL star Emmitt Smith. The new season of 'Dancing with the Stars' premieres Sept. 12 on ABC.
