Ahead of his appearance on ABC’s televised CMA Music Festival special, Sam Hunt is sharing a sneak peek of what fans can expect to see from him during the upcoming show. Press play above to watch a snippet of Hunt's performance of "Body Like a Back Road" at the annual event.

In this behind-the-scenes video, Hunt gives fans a look at his CMA Fest set; he also shares how he started playing music.

“I had a buddy in high school, who I played football with -- he bought a guitar,” recalls Hunt. “I decided I wanted to buy a guitar, thinking it would just be a hobby, but I couldn’t put it down. I didn’t know what I needed until I found it -- that guitar was it. Music was it. Songwriting was it. I knew it right away.”

CMA Fest: The Music Event of the Summer will highlight some of the best performances from the 2017 CMA Music Festival, which took place in June in Nashville. The TV special will also include performances from Garth Brooks, Keith Urban, Florida Georgia Line, Miranda Lambert, Eric Church, Blake Shelton, Lady Antebellum and many more.

CMA Fest: The Music Event of the Summer is scheduled to air on ABC on Aug. 16 at 8PM ET.
