Congratulations are in order for Sam Hunt! The singer's newest single, "Body Like a Back Road," has now been on the top of Billboard's Hot Country Songs Chart for 25 weeks -- a new record.

In being on top of the Hot Country Songs chart for 25 consecutive weeks, "Body Like a Back Road" has broken the chart's overall record for most weeks at No. 1; previously, that record belonged to to Florida Georgia Line, who spent 24 weeks at No. 1 with “Cruise” in 2012 and 2013. In June, “Body Like a Back Road” broke a 55-year-old record on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, making Hunt the solo artist with the longest run at No. 1 on the 59-year-old chart.

In May, “Body Like a Back Road” spent three weeks at No. 1 on Billboard‘s Country Airplay chart; it also spent a record-breaking 16 weeks in that chart's Top 5. In addition to dominating the charts, Hunt's single is also the most-downloaded and most-streamed country song, and the third-most-downloaded song across all genres, so far in 2017. It's broken over a dozen streaming records and has been certified triple platinum.

Written by Hunt, Zach Crowell (who also produced the track), Josh Osborne and Shane McAnally following Hunt’s engagement to now-wife Hannah Lee Fowler, “Body Like a Back Road” is a short, laid-back song with lyrics to match.

“I wanted to put out a song because we had a tour coming up, and that was a fun song that reflected the spirit of [my summer] tour, I thought,” Hunt tells The Boot, “and so I put it out, but I had no idea that it was going to do what it has done for my career.”

Currently, Hunt tells The Boot, he does not have concrete plans for a follow-up single: "I’m in a place in my career and in my life where I’m not willing to give music 100 percent of me anymore,” Hunt explains.

“I did that for four years, and it was fruitful as far as my career goes," he adds, "but everything else in my life had to be put on hold, and I’m just not willing to do that for years and years at a time.”

Hunt is currently out on the road, on his 15 in a 30 Tour, with Maren Morris, Chris Janson and Ryan Follese serving as his opening acts. A list of all of Hunt’s upcoming shows is available on his website.
