ABC's new reality singing competition, 'Rising Star' is holding auditions in Nashville on Friday (April 11).

The show will follow a group of aspiring singers during live performances. The fate of the performers is in the hands of the audience, with viewers voting in real time through an app to determine whether a singer will continue in the competition.

The performer will be able to see how voting is going during their song, and once the votes reach a certain point, he or she will be able to move on.

The show was developed from a similar hit show in Israel, and is being produced by Ken Warwick of 'American Idol' and Nicolle Yaron from 'The Voice.'

The competition is looking for solo vocalists, as well as duos and groups of up to five. More information about the audition process is available on their website.
