Reba McEntire says that preparations for the 2019 ACM Awards are falling into place "way ahead of schedule," and that she already has her outfits, performances and even the first draft of her monologue ready to go. While the show promises plenty of jaw-dropping moments, however, the country icon and 19-time awards show host says that politics won't be on the table.

"This is country music. We're not gonna give [political commentary] air time," McEntire explains. "I want to talk about and honor and lift up country music. This is a family show, and we wanna keep all the family in front of the television watching the whole awards show. So keep it a nice, family, up-tempo attitude, and not make anybody go, 'Ah, she said that about so-and-so,' and turn it off."

The superstar goes on to say that she loves the camaraderie that comes along with the ACMs, and how fun it is each year to reconnect with her peers and fellow stars. Even when she's making a few light-hearted jokes at their expense -- such as ribbing former ACM hosts Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton as they watch from the front row -- McEntire says that the ACMs brings together the country music family each year.

Aside from politics, there's one more thing that viewers will not be seeing at the 2019 ACM Awards: Reba McEntire's impression of rap superstar Cardi B! To see the one and only time McEntire tipped her hat to the rapper's signature catchphrase, press play on the video above.

The 2019 ACM Awards are set to take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nev., on April 7. The show will air live on CBS beginning at 8PM ET.
