Reba has played Annie Oakley, a race car driver in 'Little Rascals,' a cow in 'Charlotte's Web' and a single mom on her TV show 'Reba.' But her next role may just be her most out-of-character ever: as a boy. Well, at least a woman who fantasizes about being the opposite sex.

"We're taping the video for 'If I Were a Boy' this week, so keep your fingers crossed for all of us that it goes smoothly and as planned," the country icon reveals on her blog. The song, written and made famous by Beyoncé, is the newest single off Reba's latest CD, 'All the Women I Am.' (Watch her perform it live here.)

It may seem an unlikely choice for the Grand Ole Opry member, but she insists it is a surprisingly perfect fit. "Every song on the album portrays a different story for each woman in the song," Reba told The Boot. "There's a lot of women in here [pointing to herself]. Different personalities, different things, different hats I wear throughout the day."

The determined redhead is also hard at work learning a second languge -- Spanish -- and says the teachings are going muy bueno.

"Good news! I'm on my second lesson for Spanish!" she writes. "That still doesn't make it right for someone to come up to me and start speaking perfect Spanish and expect me to understand them, okay? This will take a little longer than I expected but what I'm very surprised about is, I love it! I'm having a great time learning!"

The upcoming ACM Awards host may have to put her Spanish lessons on hold for a bit. She is continuing her tour with George Strait, as well as opening act Lee Ann Womack, that will take them to Florida for three shows this weekend, followed by stops in California, Las Vegas and Indianapolis.
