Reba McEntire recently recalled how she'd been "starstruck" upon meeting legendary actor James Stewart during the taping of a 1988 TV special. Now she reveals the inspiration behind the Starstruck company name which has been attached to myriad projects both Reba and her husband/manager Narvel Blackstock have undertaken throughout the past two decades.

"The way Narvel and I thought of Starstruck for our company name is we were riding on the bus one day and the Cher movie 'Moonstruck' had just come out, and we thought that title sounded really neat," says Reba. "We thought something '-struck' would make a great business name. We finally landed on 'Starstruck'."

For the multifaceted entertainer and her husband, who just celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary last week, Starstruck not only does it all, the name says it all.

"[It] makes so much sense because we are star struck of this business and the people who have paved the way before us -- Minnie Pearl, Kitty Wells, Loretta Lynn,Merle Haggard, Dolly Parton, Barbara Mandrell -- all heroes of mine. And I was always star struck around them. I remember opening a show for Merle years ago and not even being able to go up an introduce myself! So, as you can see, Starstruck turned out to be the perfect name for our company."

A number of business ventures have been launched under the Starstruck Entertainment banner, including artist management, music publishing, a clothing line for retail department stores, and the operation of a recording studio. And, of course, Reba continues to make hit records, with her latest, 'Strange,' currently climbing the charts.
