Legendary country music artist Ray Stevens, along with Brenda Lee and Jeannie Seely, will be inducted into Nashville's Music City Walk of Fame on Aug. 21, 2018. The induction ceremony will take place in Music City Walk of Fame Park, and is free and open to the public.

Stevens, who came to Nashville in 1962, worked and played alongside icons such as Chet Atkins, Dolly Parton and even Elvis Presley, pioneering the early days of country music in Music City. Heralded not only for his musical talent but also for his legacy in comedy, Stevens fused those two talents together to build up his own unique career. Most recently, he opened his own venue, Ray Stevens' CaBaRay Showroom, in Nashville.

"It truly is an honor to be recognized in Nashville, where there are so many talented people," Stevens comments in a press release. "This really is Music City, and I'm so happy to have been a small part of adding to that 'Music' since I moved here in 1962."

Lee, who was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1997, began performing on television shows as a young girl, and headlined concerts in Las Vegas as a young teenager. Now 73, she still maintains a busy performance schedule and has won several Grammy Awards, including a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2009. Fellow award-winning singer-songwriter Seely is known for writing a slew of iconic songs that went on to be recorded by country legends such as Merle HaggardDottie West, Ernest Tubb and Ray Price.

Nashville-based pop singer-songwriter Ben Folds will also be inducted during the ceremony. The inductees will receive the 81st, 82nd, 83rd and 84th stars on the Music City Walk of Fame. Inductees are recognized for their significant contributions to preserving the musical heritage of Nashville and for their art and work in the music industry.
