Rascal Flatts, Billy Ray Cyrus Mentoring ‘The Voice’ Season 13 Teams
Rascal Flatts and Billy Ray Cyrus will give Blake Shelton and Miley Cyrus' The Voice team members some help during Season 13. The two country acts have signed on as Team Blake and Team Miley mentors, respectively, for the upcoming season.
Extra revealed that Rascal Flatts are joining The Voice on Monday (Aug. 7). Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney say they've enjoyed working with Shelton and his Season 13 team members thus far.
"Blake’s got such a great ear, turning his chair around and finding great people, so it’s been awesome meeting them and giving them some tips," LeVox shares. "It’s been a lot of fun working with him. [There's] a lot of talent -- a lot of talent -- on Team Blake.”
Adds Rooney of the competition's speedy nature, "It’s a whole level of pressure; it’s really impressive to see ... It’s really inspiring to all of us.”
Fans can expect to see Shelton and Rascal Flatts team up at some point during The Voice Season 13 as well. Shelton jokes that they don't really have a choice in the matter, either: The Flatts will sing with him "because this is my show and people do what I tell them to do.”
Miley Cyrus, meanwhile, revealed her mentor news via Instagram: "#TeamMiley!!!!! @billyraycyrus is my team advisor!!!!" she wrote on Monday.
A number of country artists have appeared as team mentors throughout The Voice's 12-season run, including Luke Bryan, Brad Paisley, Miranda Lambert and the Band Perry. Others have offered up their expertise as advisers during various weeks.
Season 13 of The Voice is scheduled to begin on Sept. 25. Along with Shelton and Cyrus, Adam Levine and Jennifer Hudson are serving as coaches this season.
