For those of you celebrating Singles Awareness Day, singer-songwriter Terry Radigan releases her new album today (Feb. 14) just for you. Entitled 'The Breakdown of a Breakup,' the record, which mixes pop, rock, country and alternative music, tells the tale of how her marriage ended.

"This collection of songs helped me get through the breakup of a 20-year relationship," explains the Brooklyn native, whose songs have been recorded by Faith Hill, Trisha Yearwood, Pam Tillis and Patty Loveless. "It's not so much the story of the relationship itself as it is the roller coaster of emotions that follow in the aftermath. These songs took me through the sorrow, the anger and the wilderness to the other side. It was a bit like being put through a washing machine -- with an extended spin cycle. Wrung out, but cleansed and ready to go. I hope they bring you to the same place."

'Emily' compares a wife to a mistress with the lyrics, "We're really not so different / Poor girl, you and me / I gave a life / You gave a night." 'Mistake' turns to the dictionary to see if cheating on ones spouse is included in the definition, while 'Every Now & Then' is the admission of missing that someone, if only for just a moment.

You can listen to the album (and purchase it) on Radigan's website here, as well as share your own breakup stories here.
