POLL: Who Should Win New Female Vocalist of the Year at the 2018 ACM Awards?
UPDATE: This poll has closed early. On March 26, the ACM revealed that Brett Young, Lauren Alaina and Midland are 2018's New Male Vocalist of the Year, New Female Vocalist of the Year and New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year, respectively.
The ACM Awards' New Female Vocalist of the Year category has historically showcased some of the finest talent in the country music world, and this year is no exception. The lineup in 2018 is a cast of young, passionate artists who have something to say and the voices to get the job done.
Lauren Alaina is back on the list of nominees in this category this year, after a fierce competition last year that Maren Morris won. In 2018, Alaina is also nominated in the Vocal Event of the Year category, for her hit collaboration with childhood friend Kane Brown on "What Ifs." Another former TV singing competition contestant, Danielle Bradbery, is also in the running for this category. She was crowned the Season 4 winner of The Voice in 2013, at the age of 16, and she's been steadily working her way into a solid fan base while opening for some of Nashville's biggest stars in the years since.
Carly Pearce earned her first No. 1 hit in 2017 with "Every Little Thing," the title track to her major-label debut. She's been working the music scene since she was a teenager, and it's paying off for her. The final 2018 ACM Awards New Female Vocalist of the year nominee, RaeLynn, meanwhile, had her first album, Wildhorse, debut in the Top 10 on the country charts; although it took her a while to release the project, she's built a rapidly expanding fan base in the years since her time on The Voice (Season 3 in 2012).
