Parmalee are climbing the charts with their latest single, "Already Calling You Mine," from their 2013 Feels Like Carolina album. The tune follows the band's first No. 1 hit, "Carolina," and their single "Close Your Eyes," which landed in the Top 5 -- successes that are that much sweeter because the four-man band poured their hearts and souls into the record.

"We worked a long time for this album," Parmalee's lead singer Matt Thomas tells The Boot. "We had our whole lives pretty much to work for it, but mostly the three years prior to [its release in December of 2013] ... And it’s been great. The fan reception has been awesome."

The North Carolina-based group -- which also includes Thomas' brother Scott on drums, their cousin Barry Knox on bass and childhood friend Josh McSwain on guitar -- are working on a new record, produced by New Voice Entertainment, but just like with Feels Like Carolina, they aren't in a rush to release this new set of tunes.

"It’s really cool to have such a long time to work on an album," Matt Thomas says. "We had hundreds of songs to pick from, so we could really pick the greatest songs to come up with the best album that we could put out. I think it was great that we had that long period of time."

Parmalee recently served as the opening act on Brad Paisley's 2015 Country Nation World Tour and are currently headlining their own summer tour. A full list of upcoming dates is available on their website.
