Ned LeDoux’s 2-year-old daughter Haven has died. The country singer-songwriter revealed the tragic news on Sunday (Oct. 27), one week after the “choking accident” that claimed his young child’s life.

According to both a press release and a Facebook statement from LeDoux, the artist and his family were at home, in northeast Kansas, on Oct. 20 when the accident occurred. Details of the incident were not made available, but according to the press release, paramedics were called to the LeDoux home to revive Haven after she choked; unfortunately, “attempts to resuscitate her were unsuccessful.”

“The LeDoux family appreciates your love and support and request privacy during this time,” the statement concludes.

LeDoux and his wife Morgan have been married for 11 years as of May. He is the son of rodeo great and country singer Chris LeDoux, who rose to fame in the genre after being name-checked in Garth Brooks’ song “Much Too Young (to Feel This Damn Old).” The older LeDoux, who had five children with his wife Peggy, died in March of 2005, at the age of 56, of cancer.

Ned LeDoux began playing drums with his father’s band, Western Underground, in 1998, and started working as a solo artist in 2015. He released his debut project, the Forever a Cowboy EP, in 2016, and a full-length album, Sagebrush, in 2017.
