Natalie Maines is coming out of musical hiatus! Well, at least for one song.

It's been five years since the Dixie Chicks have released any new recorded material, with 2006's Grammy-winning 'Taking the Long Way' being their last. Chicks co-founders Emily Robison and Martie Maguire have kept the music coming as the Court Yard Hounds, releasing their own critically-acclaimed album in 2010. Now, lead singer Natalie is branching out on her own, as well, recording a soulful cover of the Beach Boys' classic, 'God Only Knows.' People magazine reports that the track will be used in the series finale of HBO's 'Big Love,' set to air March 20. Listen to the song below.

Produced by Rick Rubin (who also produced 'Taking the Long Way'), 'God Only Knows' was recorded by Natalie in Malibu, Calif. in January, and features drumming by Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Natalie has no plans to record a solo album and rather does have plans to reunite with her fellow Chicks ... eventually. Since forming their Court Yard Hounds duo, Martie and Emily have dispelled rumors that the Chicks have broken up, insisting the trio are just on a self-imposed hiatus.

"She is being a mom and, no, she is not giving up the music business," Martie explains of Natalie's absence from the spotlight.

In fact, all three Dixie Chicks recorded a track for Steve Martin's brand-new album.

The Dixie Chicks are the top-selling female band in the U.S. Over the course of their career, they have won 13 Grammy Awards and have sold over 30 million albums.
