Natalie Maines and Adrian Pasdar are splitting up. TMZ reports that the Dixie Chicks singer and her actor husband are divorcing.

Per TMZ, Maines was the one to file for divorce, citing "irreconcilable differences," though the split is reportedly amicable. A rep for the country star tells the website that the situation is "a private family matter," and that there is no further comment.

Maines and Pasdar -- who has appeared in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Judging Amy and Heroes -- have been married for 17 years. The couple got married in Las Vegas, Nev., on June 24, 2000, following a Dixie Chicks concert in Sin City. The pair also reportedly won $740 while gambling at Mandalay Bay after their nuptials.

Maines and Pasdar met at the wedding of Charlie Robison and Emily Robison Strayer, Maines' Dixie Chicks bandmate, in May of 1999. At the time, Maines’ divorce from her college boyfriend, Michael Tarabay, was fresh. She was pregnant by the end of the year, and the couple’s oldest son, Jackson, was born in March of 2001; another son, Beckett, followed in July of 2004. Maines is reportedly asking for joint custody of her two sons.

Maines' and Pasdar's careers have intertwined throughout the years: Pasdar plays a cop in the Chicks’ “Goodbye Earl” video, while Maines contributed a cover of “Amazing Grace” to her husband’s show Mysterious Ways.
