It's a big week for Mo Pitney. After announcing the release of his latest single, "Boy & a Girl Thing," the singer revealed in an Instagram post that he was engaged to his girlfriend, Emily Bankester.

"I couldn't be happier," he shared. "The Lord is just dumping love on me. I watched Him form the woman I asked for on my knees. I love this beautiful Jesus loving woman and I'm so excited for a lifetime of serving The Lord together. I'm overflowing with thankfulness for the future Emily Pitney."

Pitney followed with "He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord. (‭Proverbs‬ ‭18‬:‭22‬ ESV). Love you Em."

His future bride Emily plays the fiddle and claw hammer banjo in the Bankesters, an Americana and bluegrass group, as well as sings background and lead vocals. She won the International Bluegrass Music Association's Momentum Award for Vocalist of the Year in 2012.

Pitney, who is working on his won debut album, says he is more concerned with how he treats others than any chart success.

“I don’t think I ever tried to plan what my career would look like,” he says. “It’s not about praise or even having No. 1 songs. My goal is always to play music and make a living doing that. I have put most of my energy into treating people right and staying true to myself and my faith.”

A wedding date has yet to be announced. Download “Boy & a Girl Thing” on iTunes.
