Miranda LambertMiranda Lambert is used to being one of the boys, having opened for the likes of Brad Paisley and Brooks & Dunn, but she really can't wait to be one of the girls. Miranda is one of a handful of country artists, along with Sugarland, Martina McBride, Loretta Lynn, Emmylou Harris and Court Yard Hounds, pegged to play the reinvigorated Lilith Fair, a touring festival featuring female acts, co-founded by singer Sarah McLachlan.

The reigning ACM Female Vocalist of the Year is slated to perform in eight stops on the 36-city outing, starting July 5 at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, Calif.

"I'm so excited about Lilith," Miranda tells The Boot. "I've done pretty much every big country tour you can do with males, so this all female thing will be a totally different deal for us."

Miranda is excited to hang with friends like Kelly Clarkson and Brandi Carlile, both of whom are also on Lilith, but she really can't wait to compare notes with Sarah about an issue near and dear to both women's hearts. "Sarah is really huge into animal adoption and rescuing animals, so we'll have that in common," says Miranda, whose Cause for the Paws will hold its third annual pre-party event in Tyler, Texas on May 14.

The next night, Miranda will appear at Tyler's Villa Di Felicita in a benefit for Cause for the Paws. Proceeds benefit the Humane Society of East Texas. According to her website, Miranda raised more than $250,000 last year for animal charities.

Until her Lilith dates, Miranda will find herself surrounded by men, but this time she's the boss! The singer, whose latest single 'The House that Built Me' is climbing the charts, is currently on her Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars headlining tour. Among the men opening for her on selected dates are Luke Bryan, James Otto, Randy Houser, Jake Owen and Chris Young.
