Miranda Lambert is bringing her four-legged friends to the 2017 CMA Music Festival. At the annual Nashville festival, the country star will host a special event for the MuttNation Foundation, the non-profit organization she founded to support rescue animals, animal shelters and pet adoption.

The 2017 CMA Music Festival officially begins on June 8, and Lambert will help kick off the festivities with the first-ever MuttNation March. During the event, Lambert, her puppy pals and a host of other supporters will walk from Nissan Stadium in East Nashville, over the Cumberland River and all the way to downtown Nashville. Fans (and their pups!) are encouraged to join in the march, which is focused on spotlighting the thousands of dogs who are currently in shelters across the U.S. and in need of good homes.

"So many shelter pets need a home, so we are going to march to raise awareness,” Lambert says in a press release. “Country music has the best fans in the world, and together we can help so many animals find amazing homes."

Lambert isn't stopping there, though: She's also encouraging attendees to take action and adopt. The MuttNation March will end with the MuttNation Foundation Adoption Drive, set to take place in the heart of CMA Fest 2017; the adoption drive will include a photo booth and "Puppy Corral" for attendees to play with cute pups, but the ultimate goal is to find permanent homes for rescue dogs currently being housed in shelters.

Fans can register for the MuttNation March at MuttNationFoundation.com, but even those who are unable to attend in person will have a chance to get involved. Running through June 19, fans can enter the MuttNation Shelter Day Sweepstakes, which will give one winner the opportunity to join Lambert for a day and help renovate an animal shelter in need.

The 2017 CMA Music Festival is scheduled to run June 8-11. For more information on tickets and performers at CMA Fest 2017, visit the CMA Music Festival’s official website. A TV special featuring highlights from the event, CMA Fest 2017, will air on ABC sometime this summer; exact broadcast details will be announced at a later date.
