Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton have broken their social media silence to each other for the first time since the news of their divorce broke on Monday (July 20), and fans have Ashley Monroe to thank -- sort of.

Shelton started the conversation by tweeting to his former wife, expressing his surprise that some people haven't yet bought Monroe's new record The Blade, calling it "shocking" and linking out to the album on iTunes.

Lambert responded with equal shock, calling the new disc Monroe's "best work" and telling the singer that she has both her and Shelton's love -- to which the "Sangria" hitmaker confirmed, "Yes we do!!"

Monroe, of course, responded sweetly to the favorable tweets.

"Awwww THANKS GUYS," she wrote, adding a heart and smiley face emoticon.

Fans who are skeptical of the friendly Twitter exchange can rest assured -- it was not pre-scheduled online banter, as one fan suggested. Shelton shot down that assumption with a quick, "Nope ... Not at all buddy."

Then, the cherry on top: Lambert tweeted a hilarious picture of Shelton pushing a baby stroller. She captioned it, "I knew it ... You WERE pregnant! This calls for a drink!"

And Shelton, in his always-self-deprecating way and with his sly humor, responded, "Ha!!!!! Busted ... I wasn't JUST a fat ass. Drinking shall now begin."

Not only are the tweets regarding Monroe good publicity for her new album, they also suggest that although Shelton and Lambert's marriage has ended, they're still able to find peace with one another.

Monroe's release party for The Blade took place on July 22, with several Nashville superstars, including Vince Gill, Meghan Linsey, Sam Palladio from Nashville and Lambert, making appearances. It was Lambert's first public appearance since the divorce announcement, and she performed "Heart Like Mine" with Monroe, who will be joining Lambert on the road for this fall's 2015 Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars Tour.
