Miranda Lambert & Blake Shelton Rescue Two Roadside Pups

There was a popular TV show back in the late 70's about a family with eight kids, called 'Eight is Enough.' If Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton continue rescuing pups the way they have been, they'll no doubt surpass that title. At the moment, the couple, who were engaged last May, are proud parents of seven canine children ... two of them having just joined their beloved pack of 'kids' last October.

"The latest news is that we have taken in two new additions to the family," Miranda writes on her website. "Blake and I found them in October. Two precious puppies we saw on the side of the road. We named them 'Virginia Bluebell' and 'Black Betty,' in keeping with our music theme. (Click here to see a picture of Miranda and Blake's newest daughters.)

"Black Betty is a spaz and Virginia is sweet and shy," Miranda continues. "They are just like the songs they are named after, and are so sweet. Delta and Delilah are still coming around to the idea ... but Cher loves them to death. So all together, we have 7 rescue dogs!!! Jeez! Oh well, at least I practice what I preach."

Right now, the five-time, Grammy-nominated singer is busy writing for a new album, as well as planning her upcoming nuptials.

"This year I will make a new record, go on tour ... and most importantly, I'll GET MARRIED! I can't wait," Miranda writes. "I'm ready for the next phase of life, and for hanging out with my good ol' Oklahoma boy forever.

"I plan on recording my next album in the spring," she continues. "I am writing like crazy to get just the right songs. You know, 'Revolution' is going to be hard to follow, but I think I have a great start ... I hope 2011 brings us all great things. I'm looking forward to another great year. Don't forget ... love a shelter pet (or 7)!"

Miranda has just been announced as one of the performers at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards, which will be broadcast on CBS at 8:00 PM on February 13. It will be her first time to sing on the Grammy stage. Miranda's new single, 'Heart Like Mine,' is at radio now.
