Michelle Branch's 'Everything Comes and Goes' album may be shelved indefinitely, but the former Wrecker is offering fans a free download of 'Long Goodbye,' which features country superstar Dwight Yoakam.

"This is a song that I am the most excited to share with all of you," gushes Michelle. "This song was meant to be the follow up single to "Sooner Or Later."

Michelle took to her blog to discuss how the musical pairing came into existence.

"One of my favorite artists is Dwight Yoakam. When I was in the studio in Nashville, we met and I told him it would be a dream come true if he sang on my record,' writes Michelle. "Next thing you know, he was in the studio singing 'Long Goodbye' with me. I couldn't imagine this song without his voice on it."

Fans can visit Michelle's official website to download the track. The singer has recently hinted at returning to her pop-rock roots, with a brand new studio album due as early as June.
