Martina McBride will perform for the debut of a live online music series, 'Skyville Live,' which will premiere on Jan. 14. The songstress will be joined by R&B star Gladys Knight and soul singer Estelle for the episode.

The concept for 'Skyville Live' came about down the street from artist development and publishing company Skyville, at a tiny beer joint where up-and-coming acts were getting together and playing intimate shows. The bar only held about 100 people, and as the popularity of the shows increased, their creator, Wally Wilson, began looking for ways to bring the performances to a larger audience.

“In the early 1950s, history was made when a new method of television, devised by Ralph Edwards, was adapted by what would become a world-famous show called ‘I Love Lucy,'" Wilson explains. "This pioneering effort consisted of using three cameras in front of a live studio audience for a television program, neither of which had been done before.

"The same is true today for 'Skyville Live,'" he continues. "Never before has a live, network-quality television-style program been broadcast (streamed) exclusively to the internet in front of a studio audience featuring major national and international artists.”

'Skyville Live' already has plenty of other artists from every musical genre booked for performances later in the year. The monthly online series will announce more details soon. Keep track of the upcoming concerts here.

McBride recently signed to the new Nash Icon label, home to Reba McEntire and Ronnie Dunn, and promises new music in 2015.

The premiere episode of 'Skyville Live' will air on Jan. 14 at 8 PM ET at SkyvilleLive.com.
