When it comes to memorable vocal performances, few artists can top Martina McBride for sheer emotional impact. A powerhouse singer whose hits, including 'A Broken Wing,' 'Independence Day' and 'Concrete Angel,' have touched the lives of countless fans, she's clearly touched by the meaningful messages in songs.

But for Martina, a mom of three whose current hit, 'Teenage Daughters,' has also touched a nerve with moms (and dads) everywhere, having kids respond to her songs creates a special kind of thrill, as demonstrated by the superstar's reaction to the recent performance of her 2006-7 Top 5 hit, 'Anyway.'

Earlier this week, Martina posted a to her Twitter page of a group of elementary schoolchildren from PS22 in Staten Island, NY, performing a stirring rendition of 'Anyway.' "This brought tears 2 my eyes," the singer tweeted. "Their singing is beautiful. So are the looks on their faces and how much they feel the song."

Martina penned 'Anyway' with the Warren Brothers, and it was featured on her album, 'Waking Up Laughing.' It marked the singer's first time to co-write one of her singles. Earlier this month, Martina was joined onstage at the CMA Music Festival for a performance of the tune featuring 'American Idol' runner-up Lauren Alaina.

'Anyway' was inspired by many things, among them a poem by Mother Teresa," Martina told CMT in 2008. "It was also inspired by real life and the fact that we all face adversity in one way or another. It's a song about hope, love, perseverance and, mostly, faith. Faith that it's not always in your hands or things don't always go the way you planned, but you have to have faith that there is a plan for you, and you must follow your heart and believe in yourself no matter what."
