Martina McBride's upcoming covers album, 'Everlasting,' will feature her take on 14 classic songs. The project is set for release on McBride's own label in March.

McBride recorded 'Everlasting' at with producer Don Was at Blackbird Studios in Nashville. It will be the first release on her newly-created label, which will be distributed by Kobalt label services.

"These songs have beautiful melodies and emotional lyrics, which is basically all you can ask for as a singer," McBride says in a press release. "While this is a bit of a departure for me song-wise, stylistically I approached these songs the way I always have, which is singing with as much soul and emotion as I possibly can."

The album will include a number of classics crossing many musical styles, including R&B staples 'Do Right Woman, Do Right Man,' 'If You Don't Know My By Now,' 'What Becomes of the Broken Hearted' and Sam Cooke's 'Bring it on Home to Me,' a duet that features Gavin DeGraw.

The album will also include songs by Elvis Presley, Van Morrison and the Supremes, with the original recordings of the songs ranging from 1955 to 2010.

"I think my fans will love this record because they are some of the best songs of all time done in a very classic style," McBride says. "I'm so excited for them to hear it and to take this record, complete with a horn section, on the road in the spring."

'Everlasting' is set for release on March 4, 2014.
