Martina McBride has a group of loyal -- and active -- fans. Team Martina, a global group of volunteers who formed together in 2011 to raise money for cancer research, have once again rallied for the worthwhile cause.

The nationwide volunteer group recently raised more than $40,000 for Nashville’s Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center through the Martina McBride Breast Cancer Research Grant. The money was raised in honor of team member Taira Baughman, who recently lost her cancer battle.

“I am so proud of this amazing team of volunteers,” McBride says (quote via Taste of Country). “They are truly making the world a better place with their fundraising efforts and I’m honored they are doing it in my name. We give this grant in honor of our friend and teammate Taira Baughman who was an inspiration to so many. She dedicated her life to her family and to helping others and this grant will undoubtedly touch the lives of countless women.”

The grant was given through the T.J. Martell Foundation, which funds leukemia, cancer and AIDS research. McBride became a vocal advocate of breast cancer research after her 2011 hit, 'I'm Gonna Love You Through It,' which featureded cancer survivors -- including Baughman --  in the touching video. So far, Team Martina has raised more than $100,000. For more information, or to become part of Team Martina, click here.
