Mark Wills knows what it's like to be "No. 1 with a bullet" on the charts. He has, after all, scored eight Top 10 hits including his seven-week chart-topper, '19 Something.' But now the singer is talking bullets on TV, as he's set to host a new show, '3-Gun Nation,' on the Versus Network.

The eight-part series, debuting August 9, will showcase amateur and professional gunslingers alike, highlighting shooters taking in the most difficult stage of fire (that's a shooting term for non-gun-toting readers) throughout all the shooting sports at showcase 3-gun venues across the country.

"I am a huge fan of competitive shooting," says Mark. "When Versus approached me to host this exciting show, I was thrilled to get the chance to play around and see some of our nation's greatest shooters."

The inaugural season pairs the tour up with some of 3-gun's most prestigious events. Along the way, competitors accumulate points, with the top qualifiers earning a spot in the year-end Classic. Held outside Las Vegas, in partnership with this year's USPSA Multi-Gun Nationals, the Classic will make practical shooting history with one winner taking home the championship and $25,000.

On the '3-Gun Nation' tour, the top eight competitors at each event will have to run a gauntlet of challenging courses of fire before squaring off in a dramatic, head-to-head, single elimination shoot-off. Viewers can watch the pressure mount as their favorite shooters, the best 3-gunners in the world, put it all on the line for the most lucrative purse in the history of practical shooting.

'3-Gun Nation' airs weekly on Versus every Monday at 7:30 AM ET and Thursday at 3:00 PM ET.

Versus is also the home of Kristy Lee Cook's controversial new reality series, 'Goin Country.'
