Maren Morris may be a relative country newcomer, but you wouldn't know it by listening to her single "My Church."

Morris sounds like she's been in the business for decades, with clean vocals and soulful instrumentation. But it's not just her sound; the Texas native's subject matter is tried and true.

"My Church" is all about religion -- but not in the way that listeners might assume. Rather, Morris' church services take place behind the steering wheel or in the passenger seat, and the sermons are coming from her car speakers rather than from the town preacher.

“When Hank brings the sermon / And Cash leads the choir / It gets my cold, cold heart burning / Hotter than a ring of fire," Morris sings. "When this wonderful world gets heavy, and I need to find my escape / I just keep the wheels rolling, radio scrollin’ ’til my sins wash away.”

At every chorus, Morris' lyrics encourage listeners to sing along, and it's hard not to oblige when she belts, “Can I get a Hallelujah? / Can I get an amen? / Feels like the holy ghost rollin' through ya / When I play the highway FM / I find my soul revival singin' every single verse / Yeah, I guess that’s my church."

"My Church" comes from Morris' self-titled EP, which was released in early November and reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums Chart later that month. Press play below to hear the entire song, which is officially impacting country radio on Jan. 18.

Both "My Church" and Morris' entire EP are available for download via iTunes and Amazon.
