Facebook announced the debut of live streaming capabilities for public figures on Wednesday (Aug. 5), and Luke Bryan wasted no time trying the new feature out, treating his fans to a peek at a brand-new song.

During a break in promotional appearances for his new album, Kill the Lights, the country star grabbed a guitar and performed an acoustic version of "To the Moon and Back," the record's 11th track.

"This is a very special song. It's a love song and ... probably a song that could be considered a wedding song down the road," Bryan says before playing the tune. "So it's pretty special; I've never done that."

The song's simple, loving lyrics would certainly be a great fit at a wedding, whether for a new couple's first dance or for a dance with a parent: "I'll be right beside you, on a roll or off the tracks / To the ends of the Earth, to the moon and back," Bryan sings.

"To the Moon and Back" was written by Hillary Lindsey, Tony Lane and Tom Douglas, and Bryan adds that he was "very honored to have the opportunity to record this song and put it on the album."

The "That's My Kind of Night" singer is fully embracing every opportunity to engage with his fans in real time while promoting Kill the Lights. Bryan recently launched a special app for fans that offers “in the moment” fan experiences, including real-time live streaming; exclusive video, audio and images; fan chats; and app-only merchandise. He will also celebrate his new record's release with a performance at New York City’s Irving Plaza that will be live streamed on Yahoo Screen’s Live Nation channel.

“I am so excited to be getting this new music out to my fans and cannot wait to be onstage and enjoy the album release night with them,” Bryan says.

Kill the Lights is set for release on Aug. 7. It is available for pre-order on iTunes.
