Luke Bryan was feted with a party at BMI on Nashville's Music Row Monday afternoon (March 21) to celebrate the recent chart-topping success of his hit, 'Someone Else Calling You Baby.' The Georgia native enjoyed the festivities along with friends, industry executives and lots of family members. Several members of his family have been in town since last Thursday, and in fact, Luke had to hire a shuttle to transport them all to the party!

"I have all my family in, and they have been since Thursday," Luke tells The Boot. "I had the weekend off, because we're in the studio -- I'm doing vocals this week -- so I had the weekend off. I had the whole family in the house. It's been fun and been a zoo."

With 'Someone Else Calling You Baby' hitting the top of the charts, Luke earned his third No. 1 in a row. All three songs -- including 'Do I' and 'Rain Is a Good Thing' -- are from his current album, 'Doin' My Thing.' "To have certainly three No. 1s in a row [is amazing], with this being obviously the third. It's been a crazy little run we're having, and we're certainly hoping we can kind of string quite a few of them together and make sure we enjoy everything that is coming our way," says the singer.

Luke was sure the song he co-wrote with producer Jeff Stevens was the major contender for the first single from his second album, but others (including those at his record label, Capitol), had a different thought in mind.

"What was interesting about 'Someone Else Calling You Baby' is when we recorded it, it was in the first batch of songs we recorded, so it was like six songs and obviously, 'Baby' was one of 'em," Luke explains. "I turned them in and Capitol was like, 'Ah, we don't think you have the one yet.' I thought 'Baby' was going to be the lead single. I mean, I really felt good about it being first. It kind of got passed over, and then we recorded 'Do I' and 'Rain Is a Good Thing' in the next batch. Obviously, we had the right songs at that point. So, the fact that 'Someone Else Calling You Baby' became a No. 1 kind of validates me, internally. I knew at least it was good enough to be a No. 1, so I was happy about that."

Luke, who is starting to hit the airwaves with his new single 'Country Girl (Shake It for Me),' from his forthcoming album, has a couple of shows on the books before he heads out on the road for Tim McGraw's Emotional Traffic tour, April 8 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
