Love and Theft, the duo comprised of Stephen Barker Liles and Eric Gunderson, has the No. 1 song on Billboard's country chart and at Country Aircheck this week with "Angel Eyes." It's the pair's debut single as a duo, since the departure of Brian Bandas in 2011, and their first for new label home RCA Records, which recently released Love and Theft's self-titled sophomore album.

Stephen and Eric have quickly achieved yet another career milestone with news that "Angel Eyes" has been certified gold by the RIAA. "Thanks to my co-writers Jeff Coplan and Eric Paslay for changing my life and letting me write this song with them," says Eric. "I guess dreams really do come true! A No. 1 song and a gold single in one week is so exciting. Thank you to the amazing RCA promo team! They are the best and we are so fortunate to be working with them. This is one week that I will never forget."

"I can't believe it!" adds Stephen. "I'm truly humbled and grateful. Thank you so much to RCA, country radio, and all our fans for making one of our biggest dreams come true."

In addition to achieving chart success with "Angel Eyes," Stephen and Eric are hearing from a lot of girls back home who have really taken the tune to heart and think the song was written with them in mind.

"Every girl wants that song to be about them," Stephen tells The Boot with a laugh. "We'll get tweets: 'I know you guys wrote this about me.'"

"Angel Eyes" is currently No. 6 on the Billboard Digital Country Songs chart. Love and Theft, released July 24, debuted at No. 4 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart.
