2017 Golden Boot Awards: Vote Now for Live Act of the Year
Welcome to the fourth annual Golden Boot Awards! The Boot’s fan-voted digital awards, the Golden Boot Awards will, in 2017, feature 10 categories of staff-selected nominees who made waves in the country music world between May 2016 and April 2017. Readers can vote for their preferred winner in each category as often as once per hour through 11:59PM ET on June 4. We’ll announce the winners on the site the following Monday (June 5).
Live performances are where country music magic really happens. With so many crazy-good tours on the road right now, picking the best live act is a daunting task, but we know you're up for the challenge.
Dierks Bentley is right in the thick of his 2017 What the Hell World Tour, and despite a run-in with laryngitis at the beginning, he has been packing out arenas and adding more dates as he goes. Thanks to openers Jon Pardi and Cole Swindell and the occasional surprise guest (Elle King), Bentley is a hard live act to beat ... but, Garth Brooks is an absolute legend when it comes to live country music, and the magic is continuing on his World Tour, which also features his wife, Trisha Yearwood. Although Brooks has said 2017 will be the final year of U.S. stops on his trek, he is still announcing additional dates for the summer, and doesn't seem to have any problem filling seats!
Other returning contenders for Live Act of the Year in the 2017 Golden Boot Awards include Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Carrie Underwood and the Zac Brown Band, all legendary performers in their own right, and all with major tours to their names within the past 12 months. Eric Church, meanwhile, is definitely holdin' his own on the road, and category newcomer Chris Stapleton is ready to make memories on his All-American Road Show tour, after impressing live in 2016 as well.
