Bluegrass-meets-folk singer-songwriter Lindsay Lou is premiering her new song "Satellite," and its accompanying music video, exclusively for readers of The Boot. Press play above to watch.

Lou's "Satellite" music video, filmed at Chicago's Navy Pier, features the artist in a split screen with members of her band (formerly known as the Flatbellys), performing the song. As each musician appears onscreen, Lou's voice combines with her bandmates' harmonies and instrumentals.

"We walked out on the sandy trails to the water’s edge, and they placed us in a large circle on the beach," Lou tells The Boot. "One of the camera crew members ran around the circle just behind the frame of the main camera, which was at the center of the circle, so we could hear the album track and play along with it."

According to Lou, "Satellite" is a blend of tongue-in-cheek and "elements of the sincere": "Someone once asked me what it was about, maybe not knowing how to pick out the latter from the former," she tells The Boot. "The first thing I could think to say was 'desperation and thinking the grass is greener.'"

Lou and her band are based in Michigan, but they have performed at venues and festivals across the world, including the Shetland Island Folk Festival in Scotland and California's Stagecoach Music Festival. Throughout the spring, Lou and company will be touring in Australia and the United States, including stops in Tennessee, Nevada, California and Wisconsin. Visit LindsayLouMusic.com for details.
