Lee Greenwood and Operation Never Forgotten (ONF) are joining forces in the new year to salute our wounded military members with a five-day event, Operation SAS (Sports, Afield & Stream), in Big Sky, Mont.

The Operation SAS benefit supports awareness, educational and healing programs for members of the military with visible and invisible wounds from Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. Warriors from all across the nation will be traveling to Big Sky for the event.

The festivities begin on January 7 with a sportsman's dinner banquet which will feature a special performance by Lee Greenwood at the Big Sky Resort Conference Center. Guest speakers for the evening will include Tim Medvetz, Marc Hoffmeister and Sam Kavanagh. Other special guests will be participating in the event, which will also include the delivery of surprise messages from various celebrities.

Silent and live auctions will feature items for all outdoor enthusiasts, including hunting and fishing trips, a hunting rifle, organic beef, outdoor gear, Moonlight Basin golfing and the best of Montana art, as well as an autographed Gibson guitar with Lee's signature, valued at $4,000.

For the remaining four days of the event, warrior guests can choose from a variety of activities including ice climbing, skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, dog sledding, horse drawn sleigh rides, Yellowstone tours, mountain yurt gourmet dinners, archery and workshops for big game hunting and fly fishing. Special adaptive gear, instructors and volunteers will be on hand to assist at each activity.
