Lady Antebellum Win CMA’s Best New Artist Honors

"It's not supposed to happen like this!" Lady Antebellum's Dave Haywood proclaimed, taking the stage after hearing their name called for the CMA's coveted Best New Artist award.

In what many are calling an upset, Lady Antebellum beat out James Otto, Rodney Atkins, Jason Aldean and Kellie Pickler for the honor, formerly called the Horizon Award.

"Jason and Rodney Atkins ... those guys deserve it more than we do," said Charles Kelley backstage. "I don't know what's going on this year -- there must be something in the water!"

"We look up to them," echoed Hillary Scott.

Lady A also took home Best New Artist honors at the ACM Awards earlier this year.
