Kenny Chesney covers People Magazine's Country's Hottest Guys issue, due on newsstands this Friday. The singer appears in a gray t-shirt and khakis, while another famous face shows off his ripped abs in an offset photo.

Chesney tops the list this year, which includes other country men Keith Urban, Tim McGraw, Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton and Gary Allan. Shelton -- who held the No. 1 spot in 2012 -- and Jake Owen join Chesney on the cover, with the 'Anywhere With You' singer wearing a pair of low-slung jeans and no shirt. He's clearly been working hard to sculpt his body.

The cover article features an interview with Chesney, who talks about the death of Kristi Hansen, the woman who inspired 'Happy on the Hey Now (A Song for Kristi),' the final track on the singer's new 'Life on a Rock' album. She was just 35 when she suffered a brain aneurysm. The event forced the 'Pirate Flag' singer to reevaluate his own life.

"You realize it could all end in a second," he explains. "And if it all went away just like that, did I do everything I wanted to do, did I say everything I wanted to say?"

Urban was named the Hottest Guy in 2011, and McGraw won the honor in 2010. Brad Paisley, Chris Young and Dierks Bentley were other artists who made the cut in 2012. The entire 2013 list has not yet been revealed.
