Kellie Pickler has already been a star on the small screen, appearing in Season 5 of 'American Idol,' as well as becoming the Season 16 winner of 'Dancing With the Stars' in 2013.

But now the songstress is getting ready to make her film debut, or at least her voice will. Pickler has been cast as a sweet potato in the upcoming 'VeggieTales' movie, 'Beauty and the Beet.' She will play Mirabelle, a yam who is in a family band. She joins recurring castmates Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber for the new movie.

In addition, the North Carolina native will also sing seven original songs for the soundtrack of the new film. Both the holiday-themed soundtrack and DVD will be released on Oct. 14, and will include Pickler singing her own version of 'Deck the Halls' for the album.

This isn't Pickler's first time testing out her acting chops. She has also made a guest appearance in '90210,' as well as appeared as herself in the hit ABC TV show, 'Nashville.'
