Keith Urban will be bringing new, unreleased songs from his 'Fuse' album with him on the road when he begins the Light the Fuse Tour in July. It's something the singer says he's never done, but he's also never begun touring before an album was finished.

'Fuse' will be available on September 10, and Urban says he expects to finish sifting through songs and recording in early August. "I've probably got about 16 or 17 songs, and I've got about three or four, maybe five more to do," he tells Billboard. "There's lots of material; I've just got to figure out what constitutes the album at this stage."

The 45-year-old is using a variety of producers to fine-tune the project, including longtime producer Dann Huff, plus Butch Walker, Jay Joyce and more. He said this should lead to a diverse sound. Songs keep coming in, and he keeps finishing songs he started writing earlier. 'Raining on Sunday' co-writer Radney Foster just sent him a song on Saturday.

"I'm going into the studio at the end of this week to see if I can wrangle it, 'cause really love that song," Urban tells USA Today.

Expect somewhere between two and five new songs from the album to be played on the singer's summer tour. Urban says he'll stay tuned in to how his audience is responding to each one during every concert. "I'm not sure how many new songs people want to hear," he says. "I certainly don't want to hear too many when I go to somebody's concert."

Little Big Town and Dustin Lynch will open the Light the Fuse Tour. 'Fuse' is Urban's ninth studio album, his first since 'Get Closer' in 2010.
