Country newcomer Karissa Ella's "Me and Luke" is different sort of love song, and her energetic acoustic take on the track is a whole lotta fun. Press play above to watch her performance, premiering exclusively on The Boot.

As its title might indicate to some country music fans, "Me and Luke" is Ella's ode to one of her all-time favorite singers, Luke Bryan. "All my friends, we got a crush on him / We got T-shirts, koozies, and a 'country girl' tattoo," she sings on the chorus, alluding to one of Bryan's biggest songs, "Country Girl (Shake It for Me)." The refrain's final lines allude to two more of Bryan's most well-known qualities, too: "This Ohio fan loves that Georgia man / Except those skin-tight jeans, nothing comes between me and Luke."

Even without the song's original, pop-influenced studio instrumentation, Ella's acoustic version of "Me and Luke" is super upbeat. It's a perfect superfan anthem, reflecting both the intense energy of Bryan's devoted Nut House and the way it feels to love any favorite artist.

"Me and Luke" appears on Ella's second EP, Blossom, released on July 19. An Ohio native and graduate of Nashville's Belmont University, she counts Gretchen Wilson, Carrie Underwood and Garth Brooks among her influences. Since the release of her first two EPs (the first one arrived in the summer of 2018), Ella's songs have earned airplay on Radio Disney and placements on Spotify and Apple Music's "up-and-comers" playlists.

Fans can keep up with Ella via her website. Each month, she hosts The Female Diaries, an all-female, all-genre writers round at the Local in Nashville.
