Kane Brown and his wife Katelyn Jae are now officially a family of three! The couple welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Kingsley Rose Brown, on Tuesday (Oct. 29), Jae announced on Instagram.

Brown shared his family's happy news on Wednesday afternoon (Oct. 30), posting a beautiful photo of himself holding baby Kingsley and kissing his wife, as she looks lovingly down at her new daughter. "Welcome to the family Kingsley Rose Brown!!!!" the singer writes in the caption.

Baby Kingsley's name comes from Brown and Jae's idea for a son's name, Kingston. On Instagram, Jae previously explained that she loved how "strong" that name sounded, and tweaked it to make it more feminine. "I still wanted to use something similar and though [Kingsley] was beautiful," she said (quote via Country Music Nation).

Kingsley's middle name, Rose, meanwhile, is a name from Jae's side of the family. Jae's middle name is Rose as well, in honor of her great-grandmother.

The Browns revealed the sex of their first child in a May 1 interview on the Billboard Music Awards red carpet, after sharing the news of Jae's pregnancy earlier in the spring. The clip aired the following day on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

“I’m not going to let the baby go — I’m going to hold on to [her] the whole time,” Brown joked with People following the reveal. “I might be carrying the baby down the carpet with me next!”

Brown and Jae got married a little over one year ago, on Oct. 12, 2018. They met in 2015 through a work acquaintance (Jae studies music management and is involved in the business as well) and got engaged on Easter in 2017, in an unorthodox fashion: Brown proposed while watching a less-than-romantic film about newlyweds titled The Amnityville Horror.
