Despite a driving rainstorm, Josh Turner proceeded with his 'After The Storm: Coming Together Benefit With Josh Turner' event on July 14 in Ringgold, Ga., raising $150,000 for the community devastated by an EF-4 tornado.

The night's ominous weather served as a sobering reminder of the April 27 natural disaster that claimed the lives of nine residents, including two Ringgold High School students. All proceeds with be split evenly between the Ringgold High School band and athletic club.

The South Carolina native joined forces with Chattanooga, Tenn., radio station WUSY to headline the benefit, and dedicated his performance of 'The Answer' to friends and family members of the loved ones who lost their lives. The singer also toured the community's damaged facilities. Fifty percent of the town's homes, businesses and places of worship were destroyed in the tornado.

"Anytime you can come together as a community to help lift each other up, it's a good day," says Gator Harrison, Operations Manager/Program Director of WUSY. "But when you can accomplish something of this magnitude as a team in these uncertain times it really shows the true meaning of family. Overall we feel 'Muddy Gras' was an overwhelming success despite the weather."
