Jon Pardi has announced a new single. 'What I Can't Put Down,' from his freshman album, 'Write You a Song.'

The California native penned the song with Brice Long and his producer, Bart Butler.

"We wrote this song last year, and I remember it just kind of poured out," Pardi tells Roughstock.com. "I kind of had the line the devil wears black and he goes by jack, and he's really good at helping me forget … I was just kind of rambling on. It's all really about the fun things that I can't put down. The chorus is kind of an anthem of what you can't put down, not in a bad way … just about drinkin', smokin', girls and playing music … everything I can't put down."

Pardi co-wrote ten of the 11 tracks on his new record, which was released at the beginning of the year. But while 'Write You a Song' might be relatively new, the 28-year-old says the collection of tunes is a glimpse into most of his adult life.

“This album represents the last four years of my life, from relationships to playing music,” he explains. “It’s a fun, upbeat album with songs about life and love.”

Pardi will have plenty of time to perform his new song. He will serve as the opening act, along with Chris Young and Chase Rice, on Dierks Bentley's Riser Tour, which kicks off in May. See a list of Pardi's upcoming shows here.
