Joey and Rory Feek of the country duo Joey + Rory have been showing their strength and bravery -- and inspiring their fans -- as they face Joey Feek's terminal cancer diagnosis with faith and courage. Despite all that rises against them, the couple says that they still have hope for a miracle.

"Thank you for the kind words, prayers and endless encouragement during this time," they tell People in a statement. "[We] still have hope for a miracle but realize one has already happened through the outpouring of love and prayers for them during this journey.

"[We] are cherishing every moment spent together," the statement continues, "and have found peace through the path God is leading [us] down."

Though Joey Feek is in hospice care, and this is obviously a very painful time for the couple and their loved ones, Rory Feek has been extremely candid in updating fans and followers on his blog; from commissioning fans to spend a moment in prayer to sharing precious photos of his wife with their daughters, he has been the epitome of an open book.

Though Joey Feek's story may not end the way fans hope, the couple makes it clear that with their faith, they'll still have a happy ending: heaven.

"... God decided for me that my job of singing for people down here is my legacy, and he needs me singing up there," says Joey Feek. "That’s how I look at it."

Fans are hoping, in the meantime, to send Joey + Rory's song "When I'm Gone" to No. 1. It's available on iTunes.
