This week, Jimmy Wayne nears the Texas border on his project 'Meet Me Halfway' solo walk across America. Throughout the 750 miles that Jimmy has tucked under his belt so far, he has crossed paths with several people who have made their mark in the singer's heart. Just last week when crossing through Mustang, Okla., Jimmy says he experienced the most emotional encounter thus far.

"There was a family who found me on Twitter," Jimmy tells The Boot. "Apparently, this church [in the town they live in] was putting together some kind of event, and they were trying to get in touch with Michael Oher (Baltimore Ravens' football player who inspired the movie 'The Blind Side'). They called some of his people, and someone in that camp said, 'There's this guy named Jimmy who's walking through your area. You should look him up online. He's walking through there now with sort of the same story [as Michael].'"

After doing some research online, the family located where Jimmy was walking in Oklahoma. "I was right around the corner of their neighborhood," says the singer. "They followed me for two days on Twitter trying to track me down. Finally, they found me in Mustang. They stopped me and wanted to talk a little bit."

Jimmy and the family found a quiet spot to talk inside the Chisholm Heights Baptist Church. "After we spoke, their little girl, Jaycie, wanted to have a word of prayer," Jimmy says. "She prayed for me and for my safety. This little kid was about four or five years old. It was very, very emotional."

Jimmy documented the special moment by tweeting a photo and writing, "This is the most precious pic I've taken N my life. Jaycie prayD 4 me 'God, thank U 4 letN Jimmy walk 2 where he's walkN 2; don't let him get hurt.'"

A video of little Jaycie saying her prayer for Jimmy can be seen here.

Jimmy started his 'Meet Me Halfway' campaign on New Year's Day when he left Monroe Harding out of Nashville, Tenn. He will continue walking throughout the next few months until he reaches HomeBase Youth Services in Phoenix, Ariz. Both organizations offer help and support to those in foster care and provide the needed resources to succeed once they reach legal age.
