Jennifer Nettles has released a new single, "Unlove You."

Nettles co-wrote the track with Brandy Clark. The song's lyrics tell the story of a relationship that has ended but is still hard to fully close the door on.

"I can't unlove you / And a heart can't unbreak / I can't unfeel how it felt / To feel so much myself / My whole body ached," she sings. "I can't unknow this / Lord, I wish I knew how / But I can’t unlove you / So come love me for now..."

The Sugarland member performed "Unlove You" at CMT's Next Women of Country showcase in November and introduced her performance saying that country music "celebrates brokenness, and it takes realness in life and shines a light through it," and that "there is beauty in all of this because it is life."

Nettles' new single will appear on an upcoming album, which has yet to be announced -- but if the new track is any indication, the project will showcase Nettles' more somber side.

Nettles will star in Dolly Parton's upcoming TV movie, Coat of Many Colors, and recently hosted the 2015 CMA Country Christmas show. "Unlove You" is available for download via Amazon and iTunes.
