Jason AldeanJason Aldean may have just finished his stint as opening act for Brooks & Dunn's Last Rodeo tour, but he has little time to relax. With the fair and festival season underway, Jason has a busy summer ahead.

One good thing about hitting the fairs and festivals, other than the carnival midway and great food, is that the multiple-act events give artists a chance to visit with each other while hanging out backstage.

"It's funny because we all tour together at certain points as our careers take off and then we head out on different tours," Jason explains. "It's not until a fair, festival or awards show that we get to hang out again. Luke Bryan was on our tour this spring and we hung out every day. Then he went out on the road with Miranda [Lambert] and we haven't seen him since. The other night, during the CMA Music Fest, we went to dinner and just sat and talked and relaxed."

Jason will be headlining again in the fall. The tour will tie-in with the release of his upcoming album, which he has been recording for the past several months.

"We have ten or eleven songs that we've been working on, although we're not finished with all of them," the singer says. "Our new single is 'Crazy Town,' and then the next single will come from the new album. We haven't picked which one it will be yet, we've narrowed it down to two of the new songs. The album will be out maybe in November. We'll definitely be back in the studio every chance we have in the next month or so.

While the album or fall tour don't yet have a name, Jason says that will be decided as soon as they pick all the songs and finish recording. And while he doesn't know all the dates on the headline tour this fall, he knows one town he and the band plan to visit.

"I always try to play my hometown [Macon, Ga.] at least once a year," he explains. "Sometimes it gets pretty crazy when we go back there because there's always so much to do. We spend the day running around, like the last time we went to the Georgia Hall of Fame to do some things. So going home to play can get pretty chaotic sometimes."

Jason's festival season gets underway June 24 in Oshkosh, Wisc., when he plays Country USA. He then heads to Orange Beach, Ala. for Amp at the Wharf. He then takes a short break, picking up on July with two dates in Canada, Country Jamboree in Craven and the Calgary Stampede, July 16 and 17, respectively.
