Jason Aldean's 'My Kinda Party' has just been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (R.I.A.A.) for more than one-million copies sold in just 11 weeks since its release. The disc, his fourth, became Jason's third platinum album, which brings his career numbers to five-million total albums sold since his debut five years ago.

"To be able to consistently kind of go out there and keep kind of hitting that platinum mark is the thing that I think is the coolest in this day and age, with the economy the way it is. It's a good feeling," Jason tells The Boot. "Five million records for my career, that's pretty stout. Five million records in this day and age is just unbelievable, and that's our new standard that we hope to be able to hit each time we go out. And we've been lucky enough to do that, so it's a good feeling."

The album sales were propelled by the title cut, which reached the top of the country charts at the end of last year, as well as his latest Top 20 hit, 'Don't You Wanna Stay,' with Kelly Clarkson.

"I just can't say enough about country music fans and the amount of loyalty they have for their favorite artists," Jason says. "To think that a million people already bought this record is hard for me to get my head around. And five million since I started? No way! I am so grateful to them for giving me the opportunity to play music every night."

Jason launches his My Kinda Party tour, featuring opening acts Eric Church and the JaneDear Girls, in Little Rock, Ark., on Friday (January 21). Click here for additional Jason Aldean tour dates.
