Jason Aldean Will Receive the Dick Clark Artist of the Decade Award at the 2019 ACM Awards
Jason Aldean is set to receive one of the Academy of Country Music's highest honors at the 2019 ACM Awards. The country superstar and three-time (and reigning) ACM Entertainer of the Year will receive the Dick Clark Artist of the Decade Award at this year's ACM Awards ceremony.
"This is probably one of the coolest awards I've ever been given," Aldean states in a press release. "My heroes are on this list, something I can't really even wrap my head around being a part of. But man, I'm proud to be getting it -- it's for everyone who stuck with us and supported us through the years."
Over the course of his long and prolific career, Aldean has sold 18 million albums and garnered 22 chart-topping hits, including his most recent single, "Girl Like You," as well as selling out stadiums and thrilling crowds everywhere during his current 2019 Ride All Night Tour.
Only five other artists have ever received the Artist of the Decade Award: Marty Robbins in 1969, Loretta Lynn in 1979, Alabama in 1988, Garth Brooks in 1998 and George Strait in 2008. The award was officially renamed to honor Dick Clark's tenure as an ACM Awards early host and longtime producer after his death in 2012.
Not only will Aldean receive the prestigious honor, but he will also perform at the 2019 ACM Awards, which is set to take place at the MGM Grand Garden and Arena in Las Vegas, Nev., on April 7 at 8PM ET. Hosted by Reba McEntire, the awards show will air live on CBS.
